Onassis Ready has been selected to host the 2026 edition of Art Athina. In preparation for Greece’s upcoming presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Hellenic Art Galleries Association has restructured the country’s premier contemporary art fair, changing both its schedule and its location. The move follows ongoing renovations at the Zappeion, the fair’s venue since 2019.
Once a plastics factory in Athens’s industrial Agios Ioannis Rentis district, the space was converted by the Onassis Foundation in 2025 to host exhibitions, live performances, workshops and the Onassis Archive.
As one of the region’s longest-running art fairs, Art Athina traditionally takes place in September. Its 33rd edition, however, is scheduled for 12–16 November 2026, welcoming 60 galleries from across Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.
