Shabbir Hussain Mustafa to Direct the 2028 Aichi Triennale

Hussain is currently the chief curator of Singapore Art Museum, and is part of the curatorial team for quadrennial Rubaiya Qatar

Shabbir Hussain Mustafa has been announced as the artistic director of the forthcoming Aichi Triennale, which will take place in Japan in 2028.

Hussain is currently the chief curator of Singapore Art Museum, and is part of the curatorial team for quadrennial Rubaiya Qatar, which will open in November of this year. He has previously held roles at the National University of Singapore Museum, the National Gallery Singapore and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, and curated the Singapore Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2015 and co-curated the Dhaka Art Summit in 2018.
