The museum of Dansaekhwa master Park Seo-bo (1931–2023) is set to open to the public on 21 August, the artist's foundation has announced.

Besides preserving the legacy of the painter, the museum is envisioned as a platform to research Korean contemporary art and ‘expand the points of connection between new generations and the global art world’, in the spirit of Park’s own artistic and educational value.

Designed by Choi Moongyu, the 2,000 sqm institution is located near the artist’s former studio in Yeonhuidong, Seoul. The opening exhibition, titled Emptiness Fullness, will present the work of Park Seo-Bo in dialogue with Vienamese artist Huong Dodinh (b.1945) whose paintings, emerging from a different cultural context, share Park’s sparseness and restraint. The exhibition will be on view through 3 January, 2027.
