Brett Littman has been named the next director of Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, the museum has announced. He was picked after a six-month search to succeed Kathryn Kanjo, who, after a 15-year tenure, departed the museum in January to lead the newly merged UC Irvine Langson Orange County Museum of Art.

Littman was formerly deputy director of MoMA PS1, executive director at the Drawing Center and director of the Noguchi Museum. He will assume his role in October.
