Ferran Barenblit Announced as Chief Curator of 16th Shanghai Biennale
Barenblit previously served as the Director of MACBA Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona

Ferran Barenblit has been anointed as Chief Curator of the 16th Shanghai Biennale, which will open in November 2027.
Barenblit is a curator, who previously served as the Director of MACBA Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona. Prior to this, he was the Founding Director of CA2M Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo in Madrid, and the Director of Centre d'Arts Santa Mònica in Barcelona.
The Shanghai Biennale was launched in 1996 and is the longest running contemporary art biennale in China.
