The artist Rene Matić has won the 2026 Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize. She will receive £30,000.
Launched in 1996 by The Photographers’ Gallery, the award for contemporary photography recognises artists who have made a significant contribution to photography in Europe over the previous twelve months.
Matić (born 1997, Peterborough) is known for their diaristic photography of British society. In 2025, they were the only photographer nominated for the Turner Prize.
