‘Do Architecture’: The 2027 Biennale Architettura in Venice

The theme of the Biennale Architettura in Venice 2027 will be ‘Do Architecture–For the Possibility of Coexistence Facing a Real Reality’. The title was announced yesterday by The President of La Biennale di Venezia, Pietrangelo Buttafuoco and the Curators of the 20th International Architecture Exhibition, Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu.
Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu released a statement on the theme: “All these questions point to one essential path: facing real reality and local practice, and directly ‘do architecture’, especially a kind of ‘do’ that is grounded in bodily touch. It is precisely through this concrete act of ‘do’ that things which seem impossible to bring together can gather in one place. This is the theme we propose for the Biennale Architettura 2027: Do Architecture —For the Possibility of Coexistence Facing a Real Reality.”
The Biennale will take place from 8 May to 21 November 2027 and will encompass exhibitions hosted by national pavilions.
