Kader Attia to Curate the Seventh Kochi-Muziris Biennale

Kader Attia will curate the seventh edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, which will open in December 2027

Kader Attia will curate the seventh edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, which will open in December 2027.

The artist and curator had previously participated in the 2014 edition of the biennale. His appointment was selected by a committee chaired by Jitish Kallat and comprising Shilpa Gupta, Amrita Jhaveri, Pooja Sood, Tasneem Zakaria Mehta, Mariam Ram, and Rirkrit Tiravanija. 

The Kochi-Muziris Biennale itself is the first contemporary art biennial in India, and is held across Fort Kochi and Mattancherry, Kerala. It was conceived in 2010 by the Mumbai-based artists Bose Krishnamachari and Riyas Komu.

Its sixth edition, curated by the artist Nikhil Chopra and HH Art Spaces, closed in March 2026.
