Bae Young-whan, a Korean artist who prioritised quotidian lived experience through his work, has died.
Young-whan married K-pop lyrics and conceptualist techniques within his practice, incorporating everyday materials like pills, cotton balls and bottle caps. He previously represented South Korea in the 51st Venice Biennale and participated in the Gwangju and Sharjah Biennales.
